Grand Canyon North Rim Adventure

United States, Grand Canyon

Our Grand Canyon North Rim Adventure offer walks and hikes on some of the best trails in the entire Park. It’s sometimes referred to as the “other” Grand Canyon, because it is far less populated with visitors than the South Rim.

Our walks, hikes and gatherings are in a word, FUN!!

The trails we walk and hike are far different that anywhere else in Grand Canyon National Park. Though rugged and sometimes challenging (but only if you want), they offer peaceful, spectacular and scenic views seen no where else on Earth.

Grand Canyon North Rim is very remote, secluded and offers Walking Connection friends a fantastic way to connect to nature and each other in a special way.

Grand Canyon North Rim is very remote, secluded and offers Walking Connection friends a fantastic way to connect to nature and each other in a special way. On one night we’ll celebrate our new-found and old friendships in Walking Connection style, with a sunset toast and dessert party under a million stars!

Every Walk Features An Amazing View!

Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge is an icon of American history! Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge is an icon of American history! And it is a tribute to the true American spirit of sharing our incredible natural resources with people the world over. Stand for a moment In the great hall overlooking the rim of the canyon with floor to ceiling windows, or catch a seat in one of the overstuffed leather couches. Open your eyes and see, open your ears and listen. The view is grand and the sound is as rich and diverse as the colors and textures of the canyon itself. Languages from nearly every corner of Earth stream from every angle. Old people seem to put up with young people anxious to see the canyon for the first time. Young people put up with old people who can’t seem to get out of their way fast enough. The American melting pot is here and inside the lodge, and along its close by paths, visitors come here to feel the power of the Grand Canyon.

“Much of The Walking Connection adventure is to experience the trails and paths of the park that have far fewer visitors. ”

All the while, Park Rangers plan and present amazing treats for all who care to listen and learn. Star nights, evenings with the symphony, wildlife talks, geology presentation, native American performances, programs for children and photography classes are other parts of the North Rim experience. There are many more!

For us, much of The Walking Connection adventure is to experience the trails and paths of the park that have far fewer visitors. We’ll host several self-paced hikes that offer all the physical challenges of hiking at Grand Canyon that you could want, and at the same time, allow for you to explore distances and speeds that are comfortable for you. There is plenty of time for you explore on your own or with new-found Walking Connection friends the many view points, overlooks and trails that line the park end-to-end.

Day 2 – Widforss Trail, Small Group Hike

Morning – Widforss Trail. A great trail that we never tire of! We have chosen it because there is great interpretation along the way for new guests joining us. Because it is an out and back trail that follows the canyon rim everyone can do as much (up to 10 miles) or as little as you like turning around at any point. We will have walkers of all abilities joining us so even if you are traveling solo there is always someone to walk with!

Widforss Trail offers stunning views of Transept Canyon as it winds along the rim. It transitions into a peaceful coniferous forest with towering Ponderosa Pines, aspen tree leaves floating on the high altitude breezes and beds of forest ferns line the path. It opens to a stunning view of the main gorge of Grand Canyon.

This evening is free for you to enjoy the beautiful sunset views.

Day 3 – Great Hikes, Social Gathering Under The Stars At The Taylor’s!

Depending on your interests, there are a variety of trails to choose from including the Uncle Jim Trail (a perennial favorite), an extension along the Ken Patrick Trail and The North Kaibab trail for those who are up for a serious hiking challenge. The choice is yours!

In the evening, join us for a sunset toast and dessert party under the stars! Great conversation with friends old and new. We will share stories and images from walking trips around the world.

Day 4 – One Last View of the Grand Canyon

One last walk! It’s time to go home…or enjoy one more night. Limited number of cabins available for extended stay. First come first served.
